FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI PERTAMBAHAN BERAT BADAN PADA AYAM BROILER PERIODE FINISHER DI TEACHING FARM PIAT UGM, YOGYAKARTA

Protein hewani dalam kebutuhan protein masyarakat Indonesia masih banyak tergantung dari produk peternakan unggas. Produk peternakan unggas yang populer adalah daging ayam broiler. Perkembangan usaha peternakan ayam broiler dipengaruhi oleh faktor pemeliharaan dan pemberian pakan. Pemberian pakan berpengaruh terhadap hasil akhir pemanenan ayam broiler, oleh karena itu, umur, kebutuhan pakan dan konversi pakan perlu disoroti sebagai korelasi terhadap pertambahan berat badan ayam broiler. Tujuan dari penulisan tugas akhir ini adalah mengetahui pemberian pakan ayam broiler periode finisher sehingga diketahui keefisienan terhadap pertambahan berat badan dan mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pertambahan berat badan yang meliputi umur, pakan dan konversi pakan (Feed Conversion Rasio). Penulisan tugas akhir ini dilaksanakan dengan metode survei yang meliputi observasi, wawancara dan praktek langsung di kandang Closed House di Teaching Farm PIAT UGM, Yogyakarta dengan jumlah populasi 5200 ekor. Pemberian pakan dengan pakan olahan pabrik yang diproduksi oleh PT. Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk dengan kandungan nutrien yang standar, periode finisher protein lebih rendah yakni 19% dengan energi 3200 Kkal/kg. Pemanenan pada umur 31 hari dengan berat bdan 1894 gram telah memenuhi target dari 1885 gram. Konversi pakan pada umur 21, 24, 27 dan 31 hari berada dibawah batas yang berarti pakan yang dibutuhkan tidak melampaui kebutuhan pakan untuk mencapai satu kilogram berat badan. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data terhadap faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pertambahan berat badan yang meliputi umur, pakan dan konversi pakan sebesar 99% dan 1% berasal dari faktor lain.

The requirement of animal protein among Indonesian society still relies on poultry farm product. The most popular poultry farm product is broiler chicken meat. The development of the business of broiler chicken farm is influenced by the breeding and the feeding factor. The animal feeding affects the final results of the broiler chicken harvesting. Therefore the age, the feed necessity, and the feed conversion need to be highlighted as a correlation to the gain of broiler chicken. The purpose of this final essay is to know the feeding of broiler chicken during the finisher period in order to know the efficiency of t gain. The writer also wants to know the factors that affect the gain which covers the age, the type of feed and the feed conversion (Feed Conversion Ratio).This final essay was carried out by using the survey-research method that includes observation, interview and direct practices at the Closed House cage in Teaching Farm PIAT UGM, Yogyakarta with the amount of population is 5200 chickens. The feeding was using processed feed which is produced by PT. Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk with standard nutrient content, the low protein on finisher period i.e. 19% in the amount of energy 3200 Kcal/kg. Broiler chicken harvesting at the age of 31 days with body weight 1894 grams has met the target of 1885 grams. The feed conversion at the age of 21, 24, 27 and 31 days is below the limit which means that the feed needed does not exceed the requirement of feed need to achieve a kilogram of body weight. Based on the result of data processing on factors that influence weight gain which covers the age, the type of feed and the feed conversion is about 99 % and 1% from another factors.
