FORMULASI PAKAN KAMBING BLIGON (Capra hircus) DENGAN KULIT BUAH KAKAO (Theobroma cacao) FERMENTASI

Potensi kulit buah kakao di Indonesia cukup besar dari segi kuantitas maupun kualitasnya. Komposisi kimia kulit buah kakao mengandung bahan kering 86,11%; abu 8,71%; protein kasar 8,14%; serat kasar 31,96%; lemak kasar 1,2%; dan TDN 69,51%. Pengoptimalan potensi kulit buah kakao sebagai pakan, salah satu cara mengolah yaitu proses fermentasi untuk meningkatkan nilai nutrien, kecernaan, dan menurunkan kandungan senyawa antinutrisi. Pemberian kulit buah kakao fermentasi dengan cara menambahkan beberapa bahan pakan sesuai kebutuhan nutrien ternak dan dilakukan formulasi dengan metode formulasi ransum. Tujuan penulisan tugas akhir ini adalah untuk mempelajari dan memahami tentang formulasi pakan kambing bligon (Capra hircus) dengan kulit buah kakao (Theobroma cacao) fermentasi. Metode formulasi pakan ternak yang digunakan adalah trial and error method. Trial and error method digunakan untuk penyusunan ransum pakan yang mempertimbangkan beberapa nutrien sebagai pembatas atau standar. Metode ini memudahkan pemilihan bahan pakan dan kandungan nutrien sesuai dengan kebutuhan gizi ternak. Penyusunan formulasi dengan metode trial and error menghasilkan tiga formulasi, yaitu formulasi ransum tanpa fermentasi kulit buah kakao, formulasi ransum dengan kulit buah kakao fermentasi tujuh hari, dan formulasi ransum dengan kulit buah kakao fermentasi 14 hari.
Cocoa pod husk is potential as an alternative feed source for ruminants. The potential of cocoa pod husk in Indonesia is large in terms both in its quantity and quality. Cocoa pod husk as a feedstuff contains Dry Matter 86.11%; Ash 8.71%; Crude Protein 8.14%; Crude Fiber 31.96%; Ether Extract 1.2%; and Total Digestible Nutrient 69.51%. Fermentation is one of the processes to increase the nutrient, digestibility, reduce the negative effects and optimize the potential of cacao pod husk as a feed. Cocoa pod husk fermentation was combined with another feed ingredient in order to meet the nutrient reqirement of livestock. Provision of animal feed is more optimal using ration formulation method. The purpose of this final assignment is to learn and understand about feed formulation of bligon goat (Capra hircus) with cocoa pod husk (theobroma cacao) fermetation. The method of feed formulation used trial and error method. Trial and error method is used for the preparation of feed rations that consider some nutrients as barrier or standard. This method can selected of feed ingredients and nutrient content in accordance with the nutritional needs of livestock. Formulation method by trial and error method resulted three formulation, that is formulation without fermented cocoa pod husk, formulation with seventh days fermented cocoa pod husk, and formulation with fourteenth days fermented cocoa pod husk.
