Hal pertama yang harus dilakukan dalam penanganan kasus penyakit ayam adalah analisis penyebab. Pendekatan dengan melihat gejala klinik dan menganalisis gambaran pasca mati dari ayam yang dinekropsi, diharapkan dapat diketahui penyakitnya. Tujuan dalam penulisan Tugas Akhir ini adalah untuk mengetahui kasus penyakit ayam di wilayah kerja Balai Besar Veteriner (BBVet) Wates Yogyakarta selama tahun 2017. Pengambilan data dilakukan secara langsung sebanyak 99 sampel dari Laboratorium Patologi di Balai Besar Veteriner Wates, Yogyakarta. Data hasil pemeriksaan sampel ayam yang diperoleh selama Praktek Kerja Lapangan pada 20-30 November 2017 kemudian dianalisis. Hasil prosentase penyakit ayam yang tertinggi adalah Brooder Pneumonia atau Aspergillosis sebesar 31,3% dan terendah adalah Newcastle Disease 1%. Data pemeriksaan ayam di Laboratorium Patologi Balai Besar Veteriner Wates pada tahun 2017 diketahui penyakit yang menyerang unggas ayam adalah Brooder Pneumonia atau Aspergillosis sebesar 31,3%, Inclusion Body Hepatitis 11,1%, peritonitis 10,1%, enchepalitis 9%, Regresi ovari 9%, Clostridial necrotic enteritis 8%, Supuratif bursitis 6%, Provenrikulitis 6%, Infectious Laryngo Tracheitis 4%, Chronic Respiratory Disease 4%, dan Newcastle Disease 1% yang terdiri dari ayam layer dan ayam broiler.

The first thing to do in handling cases of chicken disease is the analysis of the causes. Approach by looking at clinical symptoms and analyzing the post mortality picture of the chicken by the necropsy, the aim is to be known the illness. The purpose of this Final Assignment is to know the case of chicken disease in area Balai Besar Veteriner (BBVet) Wates Yogyakarta during 2017. The data were collected directly as 99 samples from Pathology Laboratory at Balai Besar Veteriner Wates Yogyakarta. The results of chicken samples examination obtained are then analyzed conducted during working directly on 2030 November 2017. The highest chicken disease is Brooder Pneumonia or Aspergillosis about 31,3% and the lowest is Newcastle Disease 1%. The results of the percentage of chicken examination data in Pathology Laboratory of Balai Besar Veteriner Wates in 2017 diseases known that attack chickens is Brooder Pneumonia or Aspergillosis about 31,3%, Inclusion Body Hepatitis 11,1%, peritonitis 10,1%, encephalitis 9%, Regresi ovari 9%, Clostridial necrotic enteritis 8%, Supuratif bursitis 6%, Provenrikulitis 6%, Infectious Laryngo Tracheitis 4%, Chronic Respiratory Disease 4%, and Newcastle Disease 1%, consisting of layer chicken and broiler chicken.
