Kesuksesan dalam usaha peternakan ayam petelur harus didukung dengan adanya kontrol kesehatan unggas untuk menjaga unggas tetap sehat sehingga produksi tetap baik. Penyakit yang sering dijumpai pada peternakan ayam petelur sangat beragam, salah satunya penyakit yang disebabkan oleh virus. Penyakit yang cukup sering dijumpai di sebuah peternakan adalah Newcastle Disease (ND). Tujuan dari penulisan tugas akhir ini adalah untuk mengetahui kasus kejadian penyakit Newcastle Disease yang disebabkan oleh virus family Paramyxoviridae dan penanganan serta pencegahan penyakit ND yang terjadi pada ayam petelur di CV. Tri Honggo Rejeki (THR) Farm di Mojosongo. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada saat Praktek Kerja Lapangan dengan melakukan wawancara pada karyawan yang menangani kesehatan dan menganalisa recording kesehatan. Presentase jumlah ayam pullet yang terduga terkena penyakit ND selama periode 20 Februari sampai 3 Maret 2018 sebanyak 3 % dari jumlah total 56.000 ekor ayam pullet. Pengobatan awal kasus ND pada bulan Februari 2018 di CV.THR Farm adalah dengan diberi air gula yang dicampur dengan air minumnya selama 5 hari berturut. Faktor penyebab ND adalah sanitasi kandang yang kurang baik di CV. THR Farm. Selain itu, pemeliharaan dengan sistem multi-age yang diterapkan di CV. THR Farm diduga merupakan salah satu penyebab sulitnya riwayat penyakit ND teratasi.

The purpose of writing this final task is to know a case of Newcastle diseases incidence that caused by virus family Paramyxoviridae and the handling as well as ND prevention which occurred in laying hens at CV. Tri Honggo Rejeki (THR) Farm Mojosongo. Data retrieval is done at the time of fieldwork practice by doing interviews on employees who handle health and analyze the recording of health. Percentage of the pullet chicken coop that unexpectedly affected ND in the period of 20 February until 3 March 2018 as much as 3 % of the total number of 56000 chickens of pullet. Initial treatment of ND cases in February 2018 at CV.THR Farm is to be given sugar water mixed with drinking water for 5 consecutive days. The factor that caused ND is a less good coop sanitation in CV. THR Farm. In addition, the maintenance of the system of multi-age that applied in CV. THR Farm allegedly is one of a reason that the disease history ND is hard to be resolved.
