ABSTRAK Judul: Profil Indeks Masa Tubuh Pasien Age Related Macular Degeneration di RSUP Dr. Sardjito, RS Mata Dr. Yap, and RSPAU Hardjolukito Yogyakarta Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui profil BMI pasien AMD. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif untuk mengetahui karakteristik profil indeks massa tubuh pada pasien degenerasi makula usia lanjut. Pasien dengan data AMD yang didiagnosis akan diekstraksi dan dikompilasi. Persentase dan rata-rata setiap kategori dihitung dan dianalisis. Latar Belakang: Age-Related Macular Degeneration adalah salah satu penyebab utama kehilangan penglihatan yang menyebabkan kebutaan. Indeks massa tubuh diduga menjadi salah satu faktor risiko AMD, sehingga perlu dipelajari lebih lanjut dalam penelitian ini. Hasil: Mayoritas pasien memiliki profil BMI dalam kisaran normal (58%), diikuti oleh kisaran kelebihan berat badan (27%), kemudian (8%) dikategorikan sebagai obesitas. Nilai rata-rata BMI dari semua pasien AMD adalah 23,85 yang berada di antara batas normal dan kelebihan berat badan. Namun demikian, kita tidak dapat menyimpulkan bahwa profil BMI yang tinggi merupakan faktor risiko karena kita memerlukan studi analitis lebih lanjut. Dari segi usia, persentase pasien tertinggi berasal dari kelompok usia 70-79 tahun dengan 36 pasien (37%). Persentase tertinggi kedua pasien pergi ke kelompok usia 60-69 tahun dengan 30 pasien (31%). Usia rata-rata pasien AMD berusia 64,55 tahun. Jenis kelamin perempuan diidentifikasi lebih tinggi dari laki-laki dalam profil penelitian ini. Non-perokok mendominasi profil merokok dengan (73%) dan mayoritas pasien AMD memiliki pekerjaan di dalam ruangan (67%) dengan paparan sinar UV sinar matahari lebih sedikit dibandingkan mereka yang memiliki pekerjaan di luar rumah. Kesimpulan: Profil BMI tinggi tidak menempati mayoritas AMD pasien di RSUP Dr. Sardjito, RS Mata Dr. Yap, and RSPAU Hardjolukito Yogyakarta. Keywords: Age-Related Macular Degeneration. ABSTRACT Title: Body Mass Index Profile of Age Related Macular Degeneration Patients in RSUP Dr. Sardjito, RS Mata Dr. Yap, and RSPAU Hardjolukito Yogyakarta Background: Age-Related Macular Degeneration is one of the major cause of visual loss leading to blindness. The body mass index is suspected to be one of the risk factor of AMD, hence it needs to be further studied in this research. Objectives: To study the BMI profile of AMD patients. Method: This research is a descriptive study to know the characteristic of body mass index profile in aged related macular degeneration patient. Patient with diagnosed AMD’s data would be extracted and compiled. Percentage and mean of each category is calculated and analysed. Result: Majority of AMD patient had BMI profile within the normal range (58%), followed by within the overweight range (27%), then (8%) were categorized as obese. The mean BMI value of all AMD patients is 23.85 which is between the borderline of the normal range and overweight. Nevertheless, we cannot conclude that high BMI profile is a risk factor since we need further analytical study. In terms of age, the highest percentage of patients were from the 70-79 years old age group with 36 patients (37%). The second highest percentage of patients goes to the age group of 60-69 years old with 30 patient (31%). The mean age of AMD patients is 64.55 years old. Female sex was identified to be higher than male in this study profile. The non-smoker dominates the smoking profile with (73%) and majority of the AMD patients had indoor job (67%) with less exposure to sunlight UV rays compared to those who had outdoor jobs. Conclusion: High BMI profile did not occupy majority of AMD patients in RSUP Dr. Sardjito, RS Mata Dr. Yap, and RSPAU Hardjolukito Yogyakarta. Keywords: Age-Related Macular Degeneration.
