Proses pengecatan di PT Mega Andalan Kalasan merupakan proses penting yang dilalui pada produk berbahan Mild Steel (MS). Peralatan yang digunakan dalam proses tersebut sangat rentan terhadap pemborosan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji tingkat Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) pada peralatan yang digunakan agar dapat ditentukan langkah yang harus dilakukan untuk memperbaiki tingkat efektifitasnya. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kuantitatif. Pengukurannya dilakukan berupa availabilty rate, performance rate, quality rate dan OEE rate. Faktorfaktor yang mempengaruhi OEE rate berasal dari six big losses. Metode analisis yang digunakan berupa Fault Tree Analisis (FTA), analisis diagram Pareto dan analisis diagram fishbone. Hasil dari penelitian ini berupa OEE rate yang lebih rendah dari standar. Hal ini berasal dari performance rate yang sangat rendah. Availability rate dan quality rate memiliki nilai mendekati standar, namun idealnya diusahakan peningkatannya karena akan mempengaruhi kenaikan OEE rate. Temuan ini sangat bermanfaat bagi perusahaan dalam mengambil langkah untuk meningkatkan daya saingnya.

The painting process in PT Mega Andalan Kalasan is an important process which performed on Mild Steel (MS) products. The equipment used in this painting process are highly consumptive. This research is aimed to analyze the rate of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) towards the equipment used in order to determine the steps that have to be conducted to improve the effectiveness. This research is a descriptive-quantitative type. The conducted measurements were availability rate, performance rate, quality rate, and OEE rate. The determining factors of OEE rate are derived from six big losses. The analysis methods used were Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Pareto diagram analysis, and fishbone diagram analysis. The results of this research are indicating the OEE rate which is lower than the standard. This condition is resulted from a very low performance rate. The availability rate and quality rate values are approaching the standard, however, the improvement will be ideal because it would affect the improvement of OEE rate. These findings are highly beneficial for the company in taking actions of improving its competitiveness
