Perancangan Program Interpretasi Di Jalur Pendakian Sapuangin Taman Nasional Gunung Merapi

Taman Nasional Gunung Merapi (TNGM) merupakan salah satu taman nasional di Indonesia yang ditunjuk pada tahun 2004. Salah satu bentuk kegiatan pemanfaatan di kawasan ini adalah kegiatan pendakian. Jalur pendakian baru melalui Sapuangin dibuka pada Mei 2017 oleh Balai TNGM. Pembukaan jalur tersebut berdasarkan hasil revisi zonasi Merapi pada Februari 2016. Dengan dibukanya jalur pendakian ini menjadi jalur pendakian resmi maka diperlukan penelitian untuk menyusun rancangan jalur interpretasi guna mendukung pengelolaan Jalur Pendakian Sapuangin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginventarisasi dan mengidentifikasi potensi objek interpretasi alam, merancang jalur interpretasi alam dan menyusun program interpretasi alam di Jalur Pendakian Ssapuangin Taman Nasional Gunung Merapi. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menginventarisasi potensi flora, fauna, lanskap, dan budaya. Data mengenai potensi lanskap diperoleh dengan cara melakukan penilaian secara visual menurut parameter Bureau Land of Management. Pengumpulan data flora dan fauna dilakukan dengan cara mencatat secara langsung jenis-jenis yang ditemui. Data mengenai potensi budaya diperoleh dengan cara mendata seluruh objek yang ada. Data mengenai potensi objek yang terdapat di Jalur Pendakian Sapuangin TNGM kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif dan hasilnya digunakan sebagai pertimbangan perancangan jalur dan program interpretasi alam. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Jalur Pendakian Sapuangin TNGM memiliki potensi yang dapat digunakan dalam kegiatan interpretasi alam. Berdasarkan data objek interpretasi alam yang telah didapatkan, terdapat empat rancangan program interpretasi alam. Rancangan program tersebut mengangkat tema pengenalan habitus Nepenthes sp., pengamatan satwa liar, pengenalan flora khas pegunungan Merapi, dan petualangan pendakian gunung.

Mount Merapi National Park (MMNP) is one of Indonesian national parks which was declared as national park in 2004. One of the utilization activities in this national park is mountain climbing. A new climbing track via Sapuangin has been opened in May 2017 by the Office of MMNP. The opening of the track was based on the revised result of Merapi zoning in February 2016. Therefore, the opening of this new track as an official climbing track requires a research to arrange interpretation track design in order to support the managing of Sapuangin Track. This research aims to inventory and to identify the potentials of nature interpretation objects, to design nature interpretation track and to arrange nature interpretation program in Sapuangin Track of Mount Merapi National Park. The research was done by inventorying the potentials of flora, fauna, landscapes, and cultures. The data of landscape potentials were obtained by assessing the landscape visually based on Bureau Land of Management parameters. The data of flora and fauna were collected by recording the encountered species directly. The data of culture potentials were obtained by recording all the existing objects. All the obtained data of object potentials in Sapuangin Track were then analyzed descriptively and the results was used as consideration in designing the track and program of nature interpretation. The research result showed that Sapuangin Track of MMNP has potentials that can be utilized in nature interpretation activity. Based on the obtained data of nature interpretation objects, there are four designs of nature interpretation program. Those are interpretation program talks about introduction of habitus Nepenthes sp., obeservation of wildlife, introduction of typical flora of Mount Merapi and mountaineering.
