POTENSI SUMBER MATAAIR DI SUB DAS WATUGEDE DAN PEMANFAATANNYA OLEH MASYARAKAT

Sub DAS Watugede merupakan salah satu sumber kehidupan bagi masyarakat yang tinggal di sekitarnya. Sejak dulu, masyarakat telah memanfaatkan air yang berasal dari mata air dengan cara mengalirkannya melalui pipa-pipa paralon menuju tandon air di masing-masing rumah. Saat musim kemarau, warga kekurangan air sampai sebagian besar warga harus membeli air. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi sumber mata air di Sub DAS Watugede, mengetahui jumlah kebutuhan air oleh masyarakat, dan menganalisis neraca air aktual di Sub DAS Watugede. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah volumetric method dan wawancara. Volumetric method digunakan untuk mencari debit aliran pada masingmasing mata air di Sub DAS Watugede. Wawancara dilakukan terhadap seluruh masyarakat yang menggunakan mata air dari Sub DAS Watugede (sensus). Mata air di Sub DAS Watugede memiliki potensi debit air di musim penghujan sebesar 1,977 liter/detik atau 170.797,9 liter/hari. Jumlah penggunaan air dari mata air di Sub DAS Watugede oleh 115 orang pengguna adalah sebesar 9.954,3 liter/hari. Neraca air di Sub DAS Watugede adalah surplus sebanyak 160.843,6 liter/hari.

Ecosystem in the Watugede Sub Watershed is a source of life in Gunungkidul district. Since a long time ago, people have used spring water by draining it through paralon pipes to the water tanks in their house. During the dry season, people run out of water to the point that most people have to buy it. This study aims to determine the potency of water sources in Watugede Sub Watershed, to investigate the amount of water demand by the community, and to analyze the actual water balance in the Watugede Sub Watershed. The method used in this research is volumetric method and interview. Volumetric method was used to find the flow discharge at each springs in Watugede Sub Watershed. Interview was held to all people who use the springs of Watugede Sub Watershed (census). The springs in Watugede Sub Watershed have a potency of water discharge in the rainy season of 1,977 liters/second or 170,797.9 liters/day. The total amount of water usage from the springs in Watugede Sub Watershed by 115 users is 9,954.3 liters/day. The water balance in the Watugede Sub Watershed is a surplus of 160,843.6 liters/day.
