ABSTRAK Sebagai mahasiswi dari Departemen Politik dan Pemerintahan, pemahaman akan teori saja belum cukup bagi bekal penulis di kemudian hari. Diperlukan juga pemahaman akan pengimplementasian ilmu yang telah didapat selama kurang lebih tiga tahun masa perkuliahan. Hal ini rupanya diwujudkan oleh pihak Departemen Politik dan Pemerintahan, sehingga mengeluarkan kebijakan mengenai hasil karya skripsi berupa laporan magang. Penulis melaksanakan kegiatan magangnya di Dinas Perindustrian dan Perdagangan Kota Magelang selama kurang lebih satu bulan. Selama kegiatan magangnya, penulis mengangkat topik penelitian mengenai "Efektivitas Organisasi Perangkat Daerah dalam Pengembangan UMKM di Kota Magelang" yang ditinjau dari teori efektivitas organisasi dan pengembangan UMKM. Lebih lanjut penulis memaparkan hasil - hasil penelitiannya, serta masukan dan saran yang kelak di kemudian hari berguna bagi instansi terkait.

ABSTRACT As a student of the Department of Politics and Government, the understanding of theory is not enough for the author's career in the future. It's also a necessary for understanding the political and government sciences's implementation that has been obtained for approximately during three years in the class. This has been realized by Department of Politics and Governance, so that they make a regulation about thesis form. One of them is internship report. The author did her internship in Magelang's Department of Industry and Trade for approximately a month. During her internship the authors raised the topic of research on Effectiveness of Government Agency in order to Develop Small and Medium Business (UMKM), case study: Magelang's Department of Industry and Trade which viewed from a theory about the effectiveness of organization and development of UMKM. Furthermore, the author describes the result of her research and also critics and suggests that useful for the Department in the future.
