PERBEDAAN TINGKAT KEBERSIHAN GIGI TIRUAN PADA PASIEN LAKI-LAKI DAN PEREMPUAN PENGGUNA GIGI TIRUAN LENGKAP RESIN AKRILIK (Kajian Penggunaan Metode Ausberger Dan Elahi)

Pemakaian gigi tiruan lengkap resin akrilik akan menimbulkan perubahan ekologis dalam rongga mulut dan memudahkan penumpukan plak pada gigi tiruan lengkap tersebut. Gigi tiruan lengkap dengan basis resin akrilik dapat menjadi tempat berkumpulnya stain dan plak disebabkan oleh sifat akrilik yang porus dan menyerap air, sehingga mudah terbentuk akumulasi sisa makanan dan minuman. Plak yang terbentuk pada permukaan gigi tiruan lengkap dapat menimbulkan peradangan jaringan lunak mulut. Pemeliharaan kebersihan gigi tiruan lengkap sangat berperan penting dalam proses perawatan gigi tiruan. Jenis kelamin berpengaruh terhadap kebersihan gigi tiruan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan tingkat kebersihan gigi tiruan pada pasien laki-laki dan perempuan pengguna gigi tiruan lengkap resin akrilik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap 40 responden. Responden dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok berdasarkan jenis kelamin. Penelitian dimulai dengan menyamakan skor awal yaitu skor 0 dengan menyamakan pula cara menyikat gigi masing-masing responden yaitu menggunakan teknik roll yang dilakukan pada kunjungan pertama. Hari ke 7 yaitu pada kunjungan kedua, dilakukan skoring terhadap kebersihan gigi tiruan lengkap menggunakan metode Ausberger dan Elahi. Data hasil skor responden dianalisis menggunakan metode non-parametrik Mann-Whitney. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan signifikansi sebesar 0,003 (p<0,05) yang artinya terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna skor kebersihan gigi tiruan lengkap resin akrilik pada responden laki-laki dan perempuan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah jenis kelamin perempuan mempunyai tingkat kebersihan gigi tiruan lengkap yang lebih baik daripada jenis kelamin laki-laki.

The use of full dentures will cause ecological changes in the oral cavity and easily form of the plaque on the full dentures. Acrylic resin base dentures become a place where stain and plaque form, because by acrylic properties that are porous and water absorbent, make food and beverage scraps accumulation. Plaque that forms on the surface of the full dentures can cause inflammation of the soft tissues in the mouth. Maintenance of dentures hygiene is a very important role in dentures treatment process. Gender influences to dentures hygiene. This study aims to decide the difference in the level of dentures hygiene in male and female patients full dentures of acrylic resin. The research method used was descriptive. This study was conducted on 40 respondents. Respondents were divided into 2 groups by gender. Research started by equating the initial score of score 0 by equating also how to brush teeth of each respondent was using the roll technique done on the first visit. Day 7 was on the second visit, done scoring of full dentures hygiene using Ausberger and Elahi methods. The scores of respondents were analyzed using Mann-Whitney non-parametric methods. The results showed significant 0.003 (p <0.05) which means there was a significant difference in the full dentures hygiene score of acrylic resins in male and female respondents. The conclusion of this study is that female has a better level of full dentures hygiene than the male.
