Analisis Pengaruh Informasi dan Komunikasi terhadap Team Situational Awareness dalam Kondisi Emergency Response dengan Pendekatan Serious Gaming

Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara dengan jumlah keadaan darurat atau bencana yang cukup banyak. Kejadian-kejadian tersebut mengakibatkan kerugian yang cukup besar bagi Indonesia. Oleh karena itu untuk dapat meminimalkan dampak dari suatu bencana, penduduk Indonesia harus siap untuk melakukan penanganan terhadap keadaan darurat (emergency response). Beberapa penelitian menyebutkan bahwa situational awareness dapat mendukung emergency response. Penelitian ini melakukan analisis terhadap variabel komunikasi dan informasi yang diprediksi dapat mempengaruhi kemampuan team situational awareness dan kinerja tim ketika melakukan emergency response dengan pendekatan serious gaming. Responden dalam penilitian ini berjumlah 50 orang, yang dibagi menjadi 25 tim secara acak. Responden diminta untuk melakukan emergency response sebanyak 4 skenario dalam game NASA: Moonbase Alpha. Skenario yang diberikan adalah hasil kombinasi variabel komunikasi (ada komunikasi dan tidak ada komunikasi) dengan variabel informasi (ada informasi dan tidak ada informasi). Untuk mengukur kemampuan situational awareness, responden diberikan kuisioner dengan metode SAGAT. Sementara itu kinerja tim diukur berdasarkan waktu penyelesain tugas pada masing-masing skenario. Selain itu, faktor kovarian yang diamati pada penelitian ini adalah jenis kelamin, pengalaman tindakan emergency, dan intensitas bermain game setiap minggu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variabel komunikasi dan informasi memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap nilai rata-rata team situational awareness (p<0,05), akan tetapi kedua variabel tersebut tidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap rank kinerja tim (p>0,05). Nilai situational awareness lebih tinggi ketika tim tidak melakukan komunikasi dan nilai rank kinerja tertinggi terjadi ketika tim dapat melakukan komunikasi serta tidak memiliki informasi. Sementara itu dari uji mediasi yang dilakukan, diketahui bahwa situational awareness merupakan variabel mediator parsial pada model penelitian ini.

Indonesia is one of the countries with many occurrences of emergency or disaster conditions. These conditions cause many losses for the country. Therefore to minimize the effect of a disaster, Indonesian people have to be ready to perform an emergency response. Some researches mentioned that situational awareness can support emergency response. This research conducted an analysis of communication and information variables which are predicted to affect the team situational awareness and the team performance when performing an emergency response with serious gaming approach. This research involved 50 participants divided randomly into 25 teams. Teams were asked to perform emergency responses from scenarios simulated in NASA: Moonbase Alpha game. Four scenarios were given as a result from combining communication variable (with communication and without communication) with information variable (with information and without information). The situational awareness value of each team was measured by questionnaire using SAGAT method and the team performance was measured by the time of task completion in each scenario. Furthermore, covariance in this research are the gender, experience of performing emergency response, and intensity of playing game weekly. The results shows that communication and information variables had a significant effect to the team situational awareness average value (p<0.05), but both variables had no significant effect to the rank team performance (p>0.05). In this research, the team situational awareness is higher when without communication in the team, and the highest value of rank team performance occurred when the condition allowed communication but without information given. Moreover, the result of the mediation test shows that situational awareness is a partial mediator variable in this research model.
