REPRODUKSI IDENTITAS MASYARAKAT ALOR-PANTAR DALAM TARIAN LEGO-LEGO

Bagi masyarakat Alor-Pantar, tarian Lego-Lego sudah menjadi bagian tak terpisahkan dari kehidupan dan narasi muasal keberadaan mereka. Masyarakat Alor-Pantar melakukan tarian Lego-Lego sebagai ungkapan rasa syukur terhadap keberhasilan suatu pekerjaan yang dikerjakan secara bersama-sama sekaligus menjadi medium bagi mereka untuk membangun kembali relasi dengan sesama dan nenek moyang mereka. Akan tetapi, kedatangan agama-agama baru dan modernisasi telah mengakibatkan perubahan sosial dan identitas masyarakat Alor-Pantar yang pada akhirnya berdampak pada tarian Lego-Lego. Kini, tarian Lego-Lego dirombak sedemikian rupa menjadi sebuah pertunjukan seni yang lebih menonjolkan unsur estetika daripada spiritual. Tesis ini menelaah perubahan tarian Lego-Lego dari tarian sakral menjadi atraksi seni dan bagaimana masyarakat Alor-Pantar memaknai perubahan ini. Pemaknaan terhadap tarian Lego-lego ini menjadi bingkai untuk menelaah reproduksi identitas masyarakat Alor-Pantar. Temuan dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terjadi perubahan pemaknaan terhadap tarian Lego-Lego seiring perubahan sosial yang terjadi di masyarakat. Namun, hal ini bukan berarti Lego-Lego telah kehilangan perannya sebagai tarian yang sakral. Yang terjadi adalah perubahan pemaknaan masyarakat Alor-Pantar terhadap konsep sakral dalam tarian Lego-Lego. Dengan kata lain, tarian lego-lego telah menjadi media bagi masyarakat Alor-Pantar untuk mereproduksi identitas mereka.

For Alor-Pantar community, Lego-Lego dance has become an inseparable part of their life and the narrative of their existence. The Alor-Pantar community performs Lego-Lego dance as an expression of gratitude after working together as well as a medium for them to rebuild relationships with their fellow and ancestors. However, the arrival of new religions and modernization has resulted in the social change and identity of the Alor-Pantar community which ultimately affects the Lego-Lego dance. Today, the Lego-Lego dance is reorganized in such a way that it becomes a show of art that is more aesthetic than spiritual. This thesis examines the changes of Lego-Lego dance from sacred dances to art attractions and how the Alor-Pantar people interpret this change. The meaning of this Lego-lego dance becomes a frame to examine the reproduction of the identity of the Alor-Pantar community. The findings in this study indicate that there is change of meanings to Lego-Lego dance along with social changes that occur in society. However, this does not mean that Lego-Lego has lost its role as a sacred dance. What happens is the change of meaning Alor-Pantar society to the concept of sacred in Lego-Lego dance. In other words, the Lego-Lego dance has become a medium for the Alor-Pantar community to reproduce their identities.
