PENGARUH PROVOKASI KESENJANGAN SOSIAL TERHADAP PRASANGKA ANTAR KELOMPOK

This experimental study aimed to determine the effect of provocation of social inequalities against the between-groups prejudice. The research was carried out by pre test - post test control group design. The subjects involved in this study were as many as 33 students of Gadjah Mada University (N = 30), with the composition of 14 men and 19 women. Subjects were divided into 2 groups: control group (N = 15) and experimental group (N = 18). Subjects in the experimental group obtained a provocative treatment of social inequality through a focussed group discussion. The level of prejudice were measured using Skala Prasangka Sosial (Social Prejudice Scale), before and after treatment. The experimental group showed a significant increase on post-test. Thus it can be concluded that provocation of social inequalities can improve the between-groups prejudice. Keywords: prejudice, provocation, social inequality.
