PENERIMAAN ORANG TUA YANG MEMILIKI ANAK TUNARUNGU

Deaf children is a child who experience barriers to their hearing caused by damage to some or all hearing instrument. The aim of the study was to know the dinamic of parent acceptance and what factors influence it. Three subjects with certain charachteristic were participate in this study. This study was using qualitative study with phenomenological approach. Researcher conducted interviews and observations to each subject in collecting data. Data was analyzed with Stevick-Colaizzi-keen, method of analysis of phenomenological data modified by C. Moustakas. The result showed that all subject give the negative responses when they heard about the fact that they have a deaf children. Subjects try to release their negative respons by doing coping. They also supported by these factors such as religion, social support (including spouse, family, society, the other parent’s who has deaf children), age of parents, educational background, social economic status, and self-acceptance. Eventhough they have deaf children, they were feel proud and interpreted the child as a special indication of grace, and also they feel thankful and bless to have their live.
