HUBUNGAN ANTARA PERSEPSI DUKUNGAN KEMANDIRIAN ORANGTUA DAN KEMANDIRIAN PADA REMAJA SULUNG DAN BUNGSU

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between perception of parental autonomy support with autonomy of the eldest and the youngest adolescent. As many as 182 students of the 238 existing populations in grade XI school year 2010/2011 at a senior high school in Surakarta were participated as sample who has special character which are the eldest and the youngest birth order in the family. This study has the independent variable that is perception of parental autonomy support and the dependent variable that is autonomy. Hypotheses submitted include there was a relationship between perception of parental autonomy support and autonomy of the eldest and the youngest adolescent, there was a relationship between perception of parental autonomy support and autonomy of the eldest adolescent, there was a perception of parental autonomy support and autonomy of the youngest adolescent and there were differences between autonomy of the eldest and autonomy of the youngest adolescent. Based on the analysis our results showed that the perception of parental autonomy support was positively related with autonomy of the eldest and the youngest adolescent. There was a positive relationship between perception of parental autonomy support to the eldest adolescent autonomy, so did to the youngest adolescent. The autonomy between the eldest and the youngest adolescent there was no differences, which is in tend to be medium level. It showed that the tendency of the perception of parental support hasn’t optimal yet for their teenagers to be more independent.
