IMPLEMENTASI PENDIDIKAN INKLUSI DALAM MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA ANAK AUTISTIK

Language competencies, including reading and writing, become the real supported literacy skill in academic and non-academic success. Another important issue is inclusive education. Full inclusion refers to the integration of all students, including those with severe disabilities, in regular classes. Reading method is a common issue. Thus, reading method for autistic child is an interested topic to be investigated. This research was aimed to elaborate the reading method for autism children in an inclusive elementary school. The results are (1) none of special reading method which is used to autistic child; (2) school has been developed inclusive education by modify the curriculum, occur social support for special need children, control the team’s commitment, collaborate the learning activities with parents; and (3) the autistic child has been improved his reading skill by adding reading time at home.
