KONSTRUKSI PERSONAL GURU MUSLIM TENTANG AGAMA DI DALAM MASYARAKAT MODERN

2011 | Skripsi |Modernization, which is called national development in Indonesia especially, had given the effect to change human thought and behavior nowadays. In this research, the effect of modernization values transformation in spirituality force of Islam is chosen as a center of discussion. Islam had to face this modernization and became rationalized. This rationalization made the understanding of Islam varied. The influence of social and environmental context where someone lives has to be determined. The understanding of how Muslim teachers make some meaning/explaining the reality of religion subjectively and then make a use of those meaning to guide their behavior in the modern society is the aim of this research. The method used in this study is qualitative approach to explore teachers’ personal constructs of religion. Teachers are chosen to be the subject due to the fact that they have legality to transmit some ideologies to their student. The result tell us that religion is used for filtering the negative effects of modernization. Religion is an defending system which stand passively and has not been functioned as an active solution maker in this modern era. We also grab four validation of religion meaning type categories from the subjects , i.e. normative, ritualistic, accommodative, and unidentified.
