PERANAN DUKUNGAN KELUARGA TERHADAP PENCAPAIAN SUCCESSFUL AGING PADA LANJUT USIA

Successful aging is a condition when old people having capability to adapt with their late life stage. Family as a caregiver are able to give a support to an old family member such as emotional support, financial support, instrumental support informational support and also self-care support for old people. Purpose of this research is to determine wheter the support of the family has a role to the achievement of successful aging. Subject in this research are in Yogyakarta population that has aged 60 years or more and they not live in social institution. The research data obtained by using two types of scale that is successful aging scale and family support scale. Results of this research show that there is a positive relationship between family support with the achievement of successful aging in their old age.
