2011 | Tesis |Increased aggressive behavior among children that occurred in the area of education is a deep concern. The lack of social skills make children less able to establish effective interaction with their environment and choose the aggressive action as a coping strategy. They tend to assume aggressive action as the most appropriate way to address social problems and get what they want. As a result, they are often rejected by parents, peer, and the environment. This study aims at determining the influence of social skills training for aggressive behavior of children in one of primary school in Yogyakarta. Social skills training in this study was a training that focused to deal with aggressive children. The training includes two components taught, i.e.: behavioral social skills training and social problem solving training. Experimental group is given a series of social skills training to deal with aggressive children. Before and after training, participants were given aggressive behavior scales. Control group were asked to fill out aggressive behavior scales without social skills training to deal with aggressive children provided.
