The aim of this study was to investigate academic achievement in terms of valence orientation achievement and personality profiles. Specifically wanted to test the hypothesis that there is effects valence orientation achievement and traits within Big Five Personality to GPA. Study sample was 72 undergraduate students at the Faculty of Psychology UGM. Iinstruments of data collection used were Achievement Goals Questionnaire and BFI (Big Five Inventory). Multiple regression analysis was used to analyze the data. Result showed that the only approach, conscientiousness, and agreeableness that have a significant effect on GPA. Conscientiousness positively affect GPA, while the approach goals and agreeableness have a negative effect on GPA. Further analysis showed that performance- approach goal has more significant negative effect on GPA than mastery-approach goals. Overall approach goals, conscientiousness and agreeableness gave effective contribution 37,5% to GPA.
