The research analyzed the protective and risk factors of social reintegration amongst female recidivists in Lembaga Pemasyarakatan. The research aimed to raise the recidivists’ awareness which would lead to improving the protective factors and decreasing the risk factors in order to help them prepare themselves for social reintegration. The method used was the action research. Data were collected from Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with n=15 and questionnaire survey (n=30). The intervention method applied in the study was Interactional Group discussion (IGD) with n=10. Evaluation on the research was conducted together with the female recidivists in Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Klas IIA Yogyakarta by holding a mass discussion, while the measurement on the IGD intervention effects was conducted by a survey (n=30). The result of the survey showed that the female recidivists in Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Klas IIA Yogyakarta participating in the counseling experienced various conditions, either supporting or distracting their social reintegration. Individual quality and social support become both the protective factor and the risk factor of the social reintegration process. The awareness on the protective factor increased as much as 8.63%, while the awareness to reduce the risk factor scored as much as 12.75%, In the social reintegration process when compared prior to and after conducting IGD.
