Participants in this study were 132 women prisoners in Lapas II A Semarang. Research data were analyzed using regression dan case analysis. The regression analysis was used to analize the numeric data, while case analysis was based on interview toward four women prisoners who had high score and low score to explore the resilience of female prisoners in Lapas II A Semarang more deeply. Results showed that there was a correlation between emotional regulation strategies, educational level and length of sentence with resilience. Emotion regulation strategies and educational level had a significant positive correlation with the resilience, while the length of sentence had a significant negative correlation with resilience. The length of time spent in prison, age and ownership of children had no significant correlation with resilience. Case analysis revealed that reappraisal, a significant supporting person (such as family, friends or prison staff), spiritual and self esteem were the factors that influence the ability of resilience in women prisoners.
