This research aimed to know the coping sustained by religiousness of elderly people in facing anxiousness in a nursing home. The type of this research is qualitative with case study approach. The data collection is performed by committing interviews and observations. Interviews were performed to subjects consist of 10 (ten) men, 10 (ten) women and research informants (2 staffs and a counselor of religion in the nursing home). The collected data were analyzed by data reduction and data presentation to find out the conclusion. Religiousness that became steadier in the old age would have positive impacts to elderly people in facing their problems. This research revealed that religiousness has became a sustainer in subjects’ coping in the form of other coping such as active coping, seeking social support for instrumental reasons and acceptance. Religiousness is conductive in coping of research subjects in facing anxiousness that they experienced. Keywords: Coping, religiousness and anxiousness.
