The frequent cases of divorce in various social groups indicated a shift of marriage value among people. Many factors contributed in encouraging spouses to decide a divorce. One of the predictors of the emerging of both positive and negative attitude towards divorce was the level education and parenting model experienced by the spouses. This research aimed in studying the relevance between levels of education, gender, and parenting model to the attitude towards divorce. The subjects of the research were several staffs of the Regional Government Office of Klaten who have been married for 2-10 years, had never divorced, aged 25-35 years (N=90). The measuring tool used in collecting data was a scale of attitude towards divorce and perception on authoritative parenting model, while the analysis was conducted using regression analysis and t-test. The major hypothesis of the research were: (a) there was a correlation between level of education and parenting model to the attitude towards divorce, (b) there was a difference in attitude towards divorce in man and woman. The minor hypothesis were: (a) there was a positive correlation between level of education and parenting model in woman, to the attitude towards divorce, (b) there was a negative correlation between level of education and parenting model in man, to the attitude towards divorce. The regression analysis showed a significant result (F= 4.551, R2=0,308, p=0.013) which showed that level of education and parenting model had positive contribution to the emerging of the attitude towards divorce. T-test (t= -3.164 and p= 0.039) showed a difference attitude towards divorce in man and woman. The regression analysis on woman showed an insignificant regression model (F=1.263, (r) squer=0.073=7.3 % and p=0.296), which meant that there was a negative correlation between level of education and parenting model with the attitude towards divorce. Level of education and parenting model might predict the attitude towards divorce as much as 7.3 %. Meanwhile, in man, the result showed F=3.458, (r) squer=0.117=11.7 %, p=0.039, which meant there was a positive correlation between level of education and parenting model with the attitude towards divorce in man. Level of education and parenting model might predict the attitude towards divorce as much as 11.7 %. Based on t-tes analysis, it can beconcluded that man have more positive interrelation between educational background and parenting pattern and their attitude towards divorce.
