PERAN DUKUNGAN SOSIAL DAN EFIKASI MATERNAL TERHADAP KECENDERUNGAN DEPRESI PASCA MELAHIRKAN PADA IB

The research is aimed to find out the role of social support and maternal efficacy to postpartum depression (PPD) tendency in primiparous mother. The source of social support in this study focused on husband’s and mother’s supports. Subjects of this research were 62. There were 45 from Yogyakarta and 17 from Semarang. This research used purposive sampling with criterion to primiparous mother with 3 to 6 months old baby. Each participat completed four scales: the postpartum depression scale, the partner support scale, the parental support scale, and the maternal efficacy scale. Multiple regression and partial correlation analysis were used to analyze the data. Results of this research showed that: (1) social support and maternal efficacy has a role to PPD tendency with effective contributions of 39,6%; (2) social support has a role to PPD tendecy with effective contributions of 29,9%; (3) husband’s support has a role to PPD tendency, whereas mother’s support did not show a significant role to PPD tendency; (4) maternal efficacy has a role to PPD tendency with effective contributions of 9,7%; and (5) education, total income, and perception of capability income had roles to PPD tendency.
