This qualitative research uses case study design aimed to recognize resilience psychological dynamics of lecturer assistants who works at PT BHMN (Perguruan Tinggi Badan Hukum Milik Negara or Higher Education Country Legal Institution). They also named contract lecturer. Lecturer assistants face threats according their status. These threats example are uncertainty become PNS, structural career uncertainty, and lengthen contract uncertainty. Pre-research activity which researcher conducted show that lecturer assistant conduct activities to face uncertainties. This research uses semi structured interview, observation, and email documentation to collect data from four respondents. Respondents are selected by purposive sampling technique. Collected data then analyzed using theoretical coding methods. This method consists of open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. Verification data in this research based on four criteria, there are credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The research result shows that lecturer assistants conduct adaptation patterns to face threats. That adaptation generally divided into cognitive adaptation, affective adaptation, and behavior adaptation. They conduct these patterns in order to hold out as lecturer assistant. They conduct these patterns, because they have main motivation to study at higher level. They consider that become lecturer assistant will facilitate them to get higher study opportunity. That main motivation strengthens by valuation of education, from respondents themselves or their family. The research result also shows that adaptation patterns conducted by respondents supported by other factors. These factors are academic involvement and provide of academic opportunity.
