One of the impacts of child abuse is negative self concept. In the fact, both of parents or teachers ways to educate their children used by a violence. This research examines the relation between children perception of violence and authoritarian parenting style with self concept viewed by Sabu and Rote ethnic environment at Kota Kupang. The sample is the children live in ethnic Sabu and Rote environment, it has also Sabu and Rote ethnic (N= 150, age 11-12). The method used in the research is the scale of children’s perception of violence, the scale of authoritarian of parenting style and the scale self concept. The result showed that children perception of violence and authoritarian of parenting style together influence the self concept (F= 5.311, R2= 0.067, p = 0.006). t-test result showed no self concept differences between children live in Sabu and Rote ethnic environments (t hitung = 0.932 dan t tabel = 1,640).
