KEMAMPUAN EMPATI ANAK SEKOLAH DASAR PADA SEKOLAH ALAM DAN SEKOLAH REGULER

2008 | Tesis |The purpose of this research was to examine the differences in empathy ability of elementary students from nature schools (Sekolah Alam) and regular schools. Comparing experiential-humanistic learning in nature school and conventional learning in regular school was the basic assumption underlining the objective of this study. Data of empathy was collected using Empathy Ability Scale from 552 students (of regular schools and nature schools), 4th - 6th grade, ages 9-12 years, and having no special needs. The subjects of this study were consist of 292 boys and 260 girls. The regular schools were represented by SDN I Ngesrep Semarang and SD Islam Terpadu Hidayatullah Semarang, while SD Alam Ar Ridho Semarang and SD Kanisius Mangunan Yogyakarta represented the nature schools. T-test was chosen for data analysis method. The statistical result showed that there was no differences in empathy ability between students of nature schools and regular schools (t=0.109, p=0.913; p>0.05). Further analysis using t-test revealed the differences in empathy ability between boys and girls students (t=2.270, p=0.024; p0.05) while different result was found in regular school.
