The aim of this study is to find out the correlation between students’ English academic achievements with social support and optimism at SMA Negeri 5 Makassar. The amount of the subject in this study is 100 students, who are the third grade students of SMA Negeri 5 Makassar. The instruments of the study are documentation and scale. The scales used in this study are Social Support and Scale of Optimism. Achievement scores are collected by documenting the result of the first semester test. The result of the regression analysis shows that there are significant correlation between students’ English academic achievements with social support and optimism (r = 0,459, and p = 0,001). The results of regression analysis shows that the first minor hypothesis is accepted, there is positive significant correlation between English academic achievement and social support with r = 0,387 and p
