SINDROM MADU DAN RACUN PADA WANITA KARIR (STUDI FENOMENOLOGI TERHADAP SINGLE CAREER WOMEN)

This qualitative phenomenology research aims at knowing the meaning of career for working women and the meaning of marriage for those women. This research tries to see the meaning of career and marriage from woman’s point of view as an individual by using several variables related to their selves. This research employed in-depth interview to collect the data from three research subjects and three informants. The purposive sampling was used to choose the research subjects and the subjects were collected by using snow-ball technique. This research employed phenomenology approach. This approach aims at describing the meaning of life experience experienced by several individuals, about certain concept or phenomenon, by exploring the human awareness structure. This approach consists of four steps; they are epoche, phenomenological reduction, imaginative variation, and synthesis of meaning. The data analysis and interpretation process include bracketing, horizonalizing, and meaning units, those processes were employed to get the structural description and generalize textural and structural description to get certain meanings which are universal and able to represent the whole respondents. The research finding shows that the reason behind single life women to keep remain on their career is for realization from the need of self-actualization to be independent and, financially, not to be dependent with other people. From the research finding, not all of the research subjects remain single because of their business related to their carrier. There are some reasons for why the research subjects remain single, they are for those women fail to find the appropriate couple and have experienced abuse during their relationship with men, which finally creates trauma. The research subjects feel worried if they get some questions from their family or surrounding related to their status as single women, this case might create internal conflict, in the form of their failure in fulfilling their parents hope.
