ANALISIS KUALITAS TES POTENSI PADA UJIAN TULIS UM UGM TAHUN 2007

This Study was aimed at examining characteristics of Gadjah Mada University selection test (UM UGM), especially Scholastic Aptitude Test (Tes Potensi), based on classical true-score theory (CTT) and item response theory (IRT) approach. Characteristic item of selection test based on CTT include dificulty level, discrimination, and distructor efectivity. In IRT approach, characteristic item include difficulty level, discrimination, pseudo-chance level, goodness of fit and differential item functioning (DIF). Sample of the study consists of 3000 answer sheets and the population were 29234 answer sheet from student candidates of Gadjah Mada University academic year 2007. An object of this study was Scholastic Aptitude Test what divided into 3 subtest; (1) Verbal, (2) Quantitative, and (3) Reasoning. This test formed 60 item which 4 distructors and only 1 key. To analyse this data, ITEMAN program used to items analysis based on CTT approach, and ASCAL used to IRT approach. The items bias analyzed by BILOG program. The results of the analysis is (1) In CTT approach, reliability of test by alpha is 0,840, (2) with CTT methods, only 50% of item is good, 36,67% must be revised, and 13,33% rejected, (3) with IRT methods,38,33% item is good, 33,33% moderate, and 28,33% is bad; and (4) in detecting DIF was funded 3 item contaminating DIF.
