ANALISIS KOMPETENSI COMMUNITY ORGANIZER NGO DALAM MEMBERDAYAKAN MASYARAKAT PASCA GEMPA DI BANTUL

2008 | Tesis |Empowerment as an approach in disaster management is supported to be developed based on principles of working together with community. It realized that community rights that need to be respected and they are received as achieve to well being. CO as Community organizer must be able to facilitate survivor community to have reflection on situation, make analysis on the problem faced and solve the problem through organising themselves as organisation power. This research uses in-depth interview for collecting data. There are seven respondents involved. Respondents were selected by “snow-ball” and were chosen by theoretical sampling. The process analyzing and interpreting data included: (1). Understanding of significant statement, (2). Meaning of statement, (3). Thems of meanings and, (4). Exhaustive description and combine textural description with structural description then structured into universal meaning which represents respondents as a whole. Verification of study result used member checks and internal audit. This research show that competency of community organizer included; soft competency: (1). Empaty, (2). Asertif, (3). Motivator, (4). Honourable (5). Honesty (6). Open minded, (7). Patient. Then, hard competency included: (1). Analysis social technics, (2). Social contact, (3). Advocation technics and (4). Community organizing technics. Then, empowerment strategy included: (1) integration, (2). Universal principle, (3). Education , (4). Cultural approach, (5). Physical program, (6). understanding the survivor community as active subject. Then, meaning of competency for community organizer included: (1). Understanding of universal society problem, (2). To ascend of society cohesivity, (3). Community has ciritical way of thinking, (4). Community understands its rights as victim.
