The goal of this research was to examine the relationship between contextual teaching and learning and academic achievement of fiqh among students. The hypotheses tested in this research were: 1). There were differences of academic achievement between students taught by contextual teaching and learning method and conventional method, 2). There were differences of academic achievement between groups of students taught by contextual teaching and learning method and conventional method after the influence of intelligent quotient on their academic achievement being controlled, 3). There were differences of academic achievement between groups of students taught by contextual teaching and learning method and conventional method after the influence of emotional quotient on their academic achievement being controlled, and 4). There were differences of academic achievement between groups of students taught by contextual teaching and learning method and conventional method after the influence of intelligent and emotional quotient on their academic achievement being controlled. The instruments used in this research were emotional quotient scale and SPM test. The sample of the research was state Islamic senior high school (MAN) students in the first class. The total of the sample was 71 students taken from two MAN used different methods of learning; MAN 3 Malang that used contextual teaching and learning method and MAN 2 Malang (Batu) that used conventional method. The results of data analyses show that: 1). There were significant differences between students of MAN 3 Malang and MAN 2 Malang on their academic achievement, 2). There were significant differences between students of MAN 3 Malang and MAN 2 Malang on their academic achievement after the influence of emotional quotient being controlled, 3). There were significant differences between students of MAN 3 Malang and MAN 2 Malang on their academic achievement after the influence of intelligent quotient being controlled, and 4). There were significant differences between students of MAN 3 Malang and MAN 2 Malang on their academic achievement after the influence of emotional and intelligent quotient being controlled.
