PENGARUH PROGRAM PEMULIHAN KOGNITIF SPIRITUAL TERHADAP DEPRESI KORBAN BENCANA ALAM GEMPA

This research was conducted to discuss the effects of PPKS (Rehabilitation Cognitive Spiritual Program) on the depression level of earthquake victims in Yogyakarta. The program was a cognitive approach and a spiritual approach to lower depression among the earthquake victims. The Cognitive approach was used to reconstruct three negative thoughts that were believed as caused of depression. The Spiritual approach was used to give peace, hope, and strength in dealing with problems as a result of the earthquake. The subjects for experiment and control group were 30 students from 2 different middle schools. The experiment group from SMP 2 Pundong Bantul and the control group from SMP 3 Jetis Bantul. The criteria for subjects in this research were, victims of the May 27th 2006 earthquake that was most effected by the earthquake, subjects must be 12-14 years students who were not involved in the extracurricular activities. They were all Moslems and they had depression (light, mild and heavy) according to BDI (Beck Depression Inventory). PPKS had 5 meetings. The first meeting was conducted to create and guide victim’s psychological dynamic. The second meeting was conducted to identify and defragmented their negative thinking to theirself. The third meeting was conducted to identity and defragmented their negative thinking to their environment / world. The fourth meeting was conducted and defragmented their negative thinking to their future. In the last meeting, Fasilitator tried to review all PPKS’s material and spiritual reflection was conducted in the end of this session. In every meeting they had home work and spiritual session. Anova Mix Repeated Measured was used to analyze data. It showed F value of 14.735 with p = 0.001. It means PPKS significantly lowering depression among the earthquake victims. The contribution value of PPKS in lowering the level of depression was 20.3%. Key Words: Depression Earthquake Victims and Rehabilitation Cognitive Spiritual Program (PPKS).
