Violence in household has occurred for a long time and spread out all over social levels, across all racial, social, cultural, economical, and political areas. Violence and torturing cases to wives in household (domestic violence) are the cases that have lasted for a long time in priority list that must be faced by the world. The objective of this research was to do a deep investigation to physical and psychological impacts which were experienced by wives after getting violence from their husbands in their household. The subjects of this research were wives who had got violence in household done by their husbands those were divided into 40 respondents who filled questionnaires and 7 respondents who were deeply interviewed and observed. The result of this research proved that it had happened physical and psychological violence such as being throttled, captured, pelted, with a clothe container, slapped, slammed to the wall, forbidden to visit their parents’ house, dispelled from home, scolded, and forbidden to shop in market. This research had also proved wives’ reactions to the violence they experienced; there were hoping their husbands would change, wishing a divorce, following their husbands’ wants, understanding and forgiving their husbands’ behaviors. Then, according to quantitative data, it was got a result that the violence brought impacts or effects to the occurrence of psychological complaint with p = 0.045, but it didn’t give any impacts or effects to the occurrence of physical complaint with p = 0.155.
