SEMANGAT HIDUP PENDERITA KANKER DITINJAU DARI OPTIMISME, DUKUNGAN SOSIAL DAN KEPASRAHAN KEPADA TUH

This research was intended to reveal the victim pf cancer's life spirit viewed from optimisme, social support and transendence. There are four hypotheses which consist of one major hypotheses, they are aimed to find out: (a) there were relationship between the victim of cancer's life spirit, optimisme, social support and transendence (b) The victim of cancer's life spirit were influenced by optimisme; (c) The victim of cancer's life spirit were influenced by social support; (d) The victim of cancer's life spirit were influenced by transendence. The subjects this research were 80 patiens that were selected from Haji Mina hospital, Medan City. Data was collected through four questionnaires, they are life spirit scale, optimisme scale, social support scale and transendence scale and depth interview was analilyzed using correlation technique and regression analisys. The qualitative data was analyzed following a set of qualitative analysis steps. The result that hypotesis was accepted, as showed that: (a ) the victim of cancer's life spirit were significantly related to optimisme, social support and transendence; (b) the victim of cancer's life spirit were significantly related to optimisme; (c) The victim of cancer's life spirit were not significantly related to social support; (d) The victim of cancer's life spirit were significantly related to transcendence.
