PROGRAM PARENTING “MENDIDIK DENGAN CERDAS" SEBAGAI INTERVENSI UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN PARE

The importance of discipline in human being life, as specially in social life, make discipline need to be developed as early as possible. Discipline is teaching value, norm and social standard, so that children a do not facing difficulties in the process of environment adaptation. The parent’s role is important and necessary in the process to suggest discipline in children education. This research was aimed to find out the influence of Parenting Program “Mendidik dengan Cerdas” – toward parental discipline. More over this research was aimed to find out the difference of parental discipline between experiment group and control group. The subject was 23 mothers, 11 mothers were grouped into experimental group and 12 mothers were grouped into control group. The research using Parental Discipline Scale to measure parental discipline. Pretest-posttest control group design was used as the experimental design of this research, and the data were analyzed by t-test. The result showed there was a significant difference of parental discipline between experimental group and control group (t = 4.884 ; p = 0.000) The experimental group showed higher parental discipline (Mean = 122.64) than did control group (Mean = 106.50). According to the research result, the Parenting Program “Mendidik dengan Cerdas” was effective to increasing the knowledge of parental discipline.
