This phenomenology-qualitative research was aimed to explore the work value among outsource employees in card center of Bank Danamon Indonesia, Tbk Jakarta. This research tried to understand the work value from outsource employees’ point of view and various problems related as their status as contract workers. Knowing work value for outsource employees will help them to understand what makes outsource employees still work in Bank Danamon as outsource. This research used in-depth interview for collecting data. Six respondents were involved. Respondents were chosen by theoretical sampling. In phenomenology-qualitative research, there were four processes of interpreting data: epoche, phenomenological reduction, imaginative variation, and synthetics of meaning. The process of analyzing and interpreting data included bracketing, horizonalizing, meaning units to gain textural description, imaginative variation was used to gain structural description, and combine textural description with structural description turned into the meaning which was universal and representative to respondents in a whole. The validity of research results used intersubjective validity. The results showed outsource employees earned less benefit, but they still stayed to work in Danamon card center until they could get better jobs. As outsource employees, they should face some consequences and they had known them before accepting the job. Some of the consequences are inappropriate standard salary for their performance and educational backgrounds, indistinct career stage and harder workloads. Outsource employees thought that working could be perceived a form of self-actualization and as a medium of worshipping since they felt to have fulfilled their responsibilities both as individuals and household heads. The desire for doing something supported them to keep working in Danamon before getting other jobs. Since they had worked in Danamon for many years as outsource, and failed to get other jobs, they chose to keep working there and did their best. Moreover, working in Danamon was a prestige for them. They were aware that the job was a confirmation for their existences as individuals. Outsource employees also worked hard according to the targets and direction stated by management. If they did, the contracts will be prolonged. Key words: outsource employees, sustain, work, performance, worship, self-actualization
