PERAN PENDIDIKAN PRASEKOLAH TERHADAP PERKEMBANGAN KREATIVITAS ANAK USIA DINI

This study was intended to reveal the differences of creativity between children who had attended playgroup and those who had not before attending kindergarten. The hypothesis where : (1) There was creative thinking difference between children who had attended playgroup and those who had not. (2) There was creative personality difference between childen who had attended playgroup and those who had not. (3) There was creativity difference between children who had attended playgroup and those who had not. The subjects of this study were 100 children Kindergarten students aged 4 and 5 from Taman Kanak-Kanak Uswatun Hasanah Sleman, Taman Bermain and Taman Kanak-kanak Ceria Timoho Yogyakarta, and Taman Kanak-kanak Al-Muttaqin Sleman, consisting of 50 Kindergarten students who had attended playgroup and 50 who had not. Data were collected by administering Skala Sikap Kreatif and Torrance of Creative Thinking Figural Form B (Circle Test), where creativity score was represented by the quantifying of both the sub tests. Based on the analysis using Independent Sample T Tests, the following results were concluded: (1) Difference in creative personality between children who had attended playgroup and those who had not (t = 3,094, p = 0,003). (2) Children who attended playgroup showed a better creative personality compared to children who had not (M = 60,1068 > 53,0367). (3) Difference in creative thinking between children who had attended playgroup and those who had not (t = 5,178, p = 0,00). (4) Children who had attended playgroup showed a higher creative thinking compared to children who had not (M = 216,2781>183,7218). (5) Difference in creativity between children had attended playgroup and those who had not (t = 5,791, p = 0,00). (6) Children who had attended playgroup showed a higher creativity compared to children who had not (M = 269,2476 > 230,754).
