KONFORMITAS DITINJAU DARI IDENTITAS DIRI REMAJA ETNIS MELAYU DAN CINA DI KOTA TANJUNGPINANG

This research was aimed to know the difference of conformity in Malayan and Chinese adolescences in Tanjungpinang based on their self identities. Subject of this research was adolescence of Junior High School level with age of 12-15 years, who were Malayan and Chinese. The sample selection for the research subject was done using Purposive Sampling. Total subjects participated in this research were 188 students, of whom 94 were Malayan and 94 Chinese in Tanjungpinang. The data of this research were obtained using conformity scale and self-identity, and form on subjects’ self identity. The data analysis technique used in this research was analysis of two-tailed covariant (2-tailed Anacova) using SPSS version 12,00 program for windows. This analysis result on the conformity data with the adolescence’s self identity was 4,9% (R= -2,21, R²=0,049; p>0,01). The 2-tailed Anacova result of conformity viewed from ethnic groups indicated nirsignificant difference with value of F=3,495;p=0,063 (p>0,05). Keywords : conformity, ethnic, self-identity
