This study was intended to answer: the position of drug abuse in the changing stage based on transtheoretical model, and what kind of changing processes occurred in that stage. To solve the two problems, the writer used qualitative research and case study towards three subjects of drugs abuse. They were all between 20 – 30 years of age, did not experienced mental illness and all graduated from Junior High School. Interview was used to gather significant data. From the research, the writer concluded that the subjects position were all in the maintenance stage. Those three subjects were under changing process, counter conditioning and stimulus control. The first subject had a big chance to relapse because he had lack of self liberation and helping relationship. The second subject still relapse but in a low level (drinking alcohol). The last subject had a little chance to relapse because he was supported by changing processes, helping relationship and self reevaluation that help him to stay away from drugs.
