PENGARUH IKLIM ORGANISASI, STRES KERJA, DAN KEPRIBADIAN TAHAN BANTING TERHADAP KOMITMEN ORGANISASI

2006 | Tesis |research aimed to find descriptively and empirically the effect of organizational climate, work stress, and hardiness personality on organizational commitment of the employees in the Goverment of Makassar. This was a quantitative research. The variables that were analyzed in this research were organizational climate, work stress, and hardiness personality as independent variables and organizational commitment as dependent variable. This research used purposive sampling as sampling technique in determining the subjects of the research. There were 80 governmental employees that were included as research’s subjects, taken from all 10 work unit in the government of Makassar. These employees must have worked at least five years in the government and had a minimal high school educational background. The research’s measurement instrument were scales for organizational climate, work stress, hardiness personality, and organizational commitment. Research’s data was analyzed with inferential statistic with multiple regression analysis technique, with SPSS program version 12.0 for windows. The result of this research showed that: there was an effect of organizational climate, work stress, and hardiness personality on organizational commitment of employees in the government of Makassar. It meant that the higher organizational climate, the lower work stress, and the hardiness the personality would cause the higher organizational commitment of the employees in the government of Makassar. All three predictors together gave 38.4 % effective contribution to organizational commitment of government of Makassar. The effect of each predictor was: 1) organizational climate had a positive effect on organizational commitment, 2) work stress had a negative effect on organizational commitment, 3) hardiness personality had a positive effect on organizational commitment.
