KREATIVITAS KARYAWAN DITINJAU DARI KECERDASAN EMOSIONAL DAN KEPEMIMPINAN TRANSFORMASIONAL DENGA

This study was a correlational study which aimed at revealing the extent to which the direct effect of emotional intelligence and transformational leadership on employee creativity and the effect of both independent variables on employee creativity mediated by job satisfaction, and also finding out how significant the role of emotional intelligence and transformational leadership toward employee creativity, directly and through mediating variable job satisfaction, at Kanisius and Andi Offset Publishing and Printing Yogyakarta. Data for the study were obtained through surveys. There were 60 employees at Kanisius and Andi Offset Publishing and Printing who became the subjects in this study. The measuring tools employed in this study were Creativity Scale, Emotional Intelligence Scale, Transformational Leadership Scale, and Job Satisfaction Scale. Data were analyzed using Regression Analysis, with the help of SPSS 13.0 for Windows. The result of multiple regression analysis showed that emotional intelligence, transformational leadership, and job satisfaction (mediator) were significantly affected employee creativity, in which F= 1145,841, p = 0,000. In the meantime, the effective contribution of the three variables to the dependent variable was 98, 3%. The results also showed that in spite of their positive correlation, the regression coefficients (B) of emotional intelligence and transformational leadership were not significant (p>0,05), which meant that both independent variables had only small role on enhancing employee creativity. The results of simple regression analysis to find out the direct effect of each independent variable on the dependent variable indicated that emotional intelligence were significantly affected employee creativity, in which F= 26,939 and p=0,000, with contribution 31,7%. Meanwhile, transformational leadership were also significantly affected employee creativity with F=5,305, p=0,000 and effectively contributed 31,8% to employee creativity.
