2005 | Tesis |The aims of this research are to discover the family role model post-stroke rehabilitation based on the perspective of system theory and profoundly to know the adapting process and change occurred on the post-stroke patient’s family using the reciliency model. The research focuses on recognizing the adapting process and changing of the family, family role, stress causes and hard demands, problem solving strategy, social wires, and family typology. The subjects of the research are 17 people of 6 families living at Banyumas Regency, at the age of 25 to 75. They speak Indonesian or Javanese and live in one roof with the post-stroke-patients and diagnosed as stroke patients from medical doctors or hospitals. The design of the research uses the exploratory and survey methods. The techniques for accumulating the data was conducted through depth interview, observation, questionnaire, and inventory. The qualitative data is analyzed using verbatim transcription, coding, and classifying the data into some categories; while the survey results are analyzed by grouping the similar data of the questionnaires and scoring the statements of the inventories. The result of the research is that stroke-attack can visibly influence a family system. This is indicated by the changing of the family relationship pattern, the family role, and the family routines. A family with a reciliency model can noticeably face the hard pressure and demand on account of a post-stroke patient. They seem to be more flexible, humorous, and friendly. They emphasize more the family togetherness and have positive thinking. Therefore, they will truthfully seek any information and ways to take care of the post-stroke patient optimally and create a positive and comfortable situatio n and condition for stroke patients in order to survive the family resource with, of course, the high social wires as well as the stable condition of the family role and routines.
