EFEKTIVITAS ART THERAPY UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETRAMPILAN SOSIAL PADA ANAK YANG MENGALAMI GANGGUAN P

2005 | Tesis |The research was aimed to investigate the effectiveness of art therapy in promoting social skills of children with behavioral problem. The subject of this research were 31 children who have characteristics : in grade IV – VI elementary school, have moderate until very highly behaviour problem,, and have poor until very poor social skills. The subjects were screened with Behaviour Problem Scale and Social Skills Scale. The subjects were randomly assigned to the following group : experiment group (n=16) and control group (n=15). The experiment group was given art therapy ini 6 session, each being held in 120 minutes. Data was collected by using Behaviour Problem Scale and Social Skills Scale that maked by researcher, observation, interview and subject’s drawing. The Social Skills Scale was used to reveal changes in social skills after the treatment was given and was analyzed by using t-paired sample and Anova within subject technique. The result of the paired t showed that score of post test 1 and 2 of social skills experiment group significantly different with score of pretest (t obtained > t critical 2,131 and p 0,05. It’s mean, the difference score of social skills between experiment group and control group is not significant. So, the hypothesis is not proven. The art therapy was not effective to promoting social skills of children with behavioural problem. Individually analyzed data showed that some subject have increasing score of social skills and self respect.
