HUBUNGAN ANTARA TINGKAT KEMATANGAN BERAGAMA REMAJA MUSLIM DENGAN MOTIVASI MENUNTUT ILMU DAN KEGEMA

This research aims to examine correlation between level of mature religious sentiment on moslem adolescent with motivation of pursuing knowledge and reading habit. Three hypotheses were tested: (a) there was a positive correlation between level of mature religious sentiment on moslem adolescent and motivation of pursuing knowledge (b) there was a positive correlation between level of mature religious sentiment on moslem adolescent and reading habit, and (c) there was a positive correlation between level of mature religious sentiment on moslem adolescent and motivation of pursuing knowledge and reading habit. The subject of the research were students from SMPN 1, Al-Iman Islamic Boarding School, SMP of Muhammadiyah, Ponorogo Jawa Timur (54 students from SMPN 1, 60 students from Boarding school Al-Iman Putri, 64 students from SMP Muhammadiyah). Three instruments were administered to gather data: the level of mature religious sentiment scale, motivation of pursuing knowledge scale, and reading habit scale. The simultan regression analysis were applied to analyze the data. The result indicated that (a) there was a positive and significant correlation between level of mature religious sentiment on moslem adolescent and motivation of pursuing knowledge (r=0,707, p= 0,000), (b) there was a positive and significant correlation between level of mature religious sentiment on moslem adolescent and reading habit (r=0,721, p= 0,000), and (c) there was a positive and significant correlation between level of mature religious sentiment on moslem adolescent and motivation of pursuing knowladge and reading habit ((r=0,706, r=0,718, p=0,000).
