ANALISIS FAKTOR SKALA MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCE STUDI KARAKTERISTIK PERBEDAAN PADA PELAJAR SMA PRIA DA
Farida Agus Setiawati,
2005 | Tesis |This research was aimed to develop an instrument to disclose multiple intelligence profiles and to evaluate this instrument with the item validity, reliability, and factor analysis. The analysis factor evaluation also performed by comparing loading factor differences among male and female students. Subject of this research were 489 students of several government and nongovernment senior high school in Yogyakarta. They were 215 males and 274 females. Data analysis were used to evaluate the item analysis, reliability, and factor analysis using the SPSS Program version 9.0. This factor analysis was performed using the explanatory method where each variable had been extracted using the principal component (PC). The result were 141 items valid and 16 items were deleted. The scores of these valid items were in the range of 0.1521 until 0.6947.The alpha’s Cronbach used to test the reliability was giving the coefficient at 0.9162 for all scales in part 1 and 0.8883 for all scales in part 2, and if we looked in each intelligent subtest the coefficient was between 0.5361 and 0.8513. The result of the factor analysis test using the principal component (PC) was only giving one factor that were extracted from scales in part 1 and part 2 whether if the subjects were males, females or males and females. The total variance explained for each factor analysis is between 42.200% and 45.875%. According to the factor structure yielded in this reseach, we know that all of the intelligent subtests had participate to disclose this factor. This finding proves that there is the general intelligence (g factor) in the multiple intelligence theory. There are variations in loading factor coefficients in many intelligent subtests for males and females, and if we analyse using the compare means from the SPSS, there are no differences among these loading factors for males and females. So, it can be concluded that the general intelligence disclosed as the result of the factor scale analysis of the multiple intelligence shows there is no differences between males and females (p > 0.05). Theoritically, the result of this research supports the general intelligence theories, especially in the multiple intelligence theory. And practically, it had been created, a measurement model of the multiple intelligence in which its validities and reliabilities had been tested.
