HUBUNGAN ANTARA KETEGARAN DAN DUKUNGAN SOSIAL DENGAN DEPRESI PADA PENDERITA DIABETES MELLITUS

The purpose of this study is to know the correlation between hardiness and social support with depression of diabetes mellitus patients. There are three hypothesis of this study : (1) there are correlation between hardiness and social support with depression of diabetes mellitus patients, (2) there is a negative correlation between hardiness with depression of diabetes mellitus patients, and (3) there is a negative correlation between social support with depression of diabetes mellitus patients. This study used purposive sampling to get the samples. The subjects of this study were 60 diabetes mellitus patients of the RSUD Dr. Soedarso Pontianak. Every subject was given three scales : the hardiness scale, the social support scale, and the depression scale. Regression Analysis was used as a statistical method. The result show that : (1) there are correlation and very significant between hardiness and social support with depression of diabetes mellitus patients (R = 0,286 dan p 0,05) and hardiness contributes 9,928 % to the depression of diabetes mellitus patients.
