The research was intended to examine if there was correlation between aattribution of domestic violence, awareness of gender equality, and coping strategy of women victims of domestic violence. There was also to find out the pattern of coping strategy used by women victims of domestic violence. There were 45 women victims of domestic violence completed three psychological scales of coping, domestic violence attribution, and gender equality awareness. They also filled the checklist of domestic violence incidents experienced. Data were analyzed using stepwise multiple regression. The results of this research showed (1) there was a significant positive correlation between aattribution of domestic violence, awareness of gender equality, and problem focused coping (PFC) of the subject; (2) there was no significant correlation between attribution of domestic violence, awareness of gender equality, and emotion focused coping (EFC) of the subject. Nevertheless, it was found if awareness of gender equality was significantly able to predict emotion focused coping (EFC) of the subject; (3) the women victims of domestic violence used both problem focused coping (PFC) and emotion focused coping (EFC) to cope with their problem.
