PRESTASI BELAJAR DITINJAU DARI KEBIASAAN BELAJAR DAN PENGISIAN WAKTU LUANG PADA SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR

2004 | Tesis |The research was aimed to find out and prove the relationship between study habit and spare time activities with academic achievement of elementary students. The hypotheses proposed were: (1) there was relationship between study habit and academic achievement of elementary students (by controlling intelligence); (2) there was relationship between spare time activities and academic achievement of elementary school students (by controlling intelligence); (3) there were relationships between study habit and spare time activities with academic achievement of elementary students. The instrument used in this research were: documentation, in form of rapport score of the last semester to reveal the score of academic achievement, questionnaires methods to measure study habit and spare time activities, and CPM test was used to measure the intelligence of the students. The research used nonprobability sampling techniques, in the form of purposive sampling to select subjects of the research. The subjects of this research were 48 students of Karangwuni 1 state elementary school. Data analysis used in this research was partial correlation analysis and double regression analysis. The results of data analysis showed that: (1) there was positive significant relationship between study habit and academic achievement of elementary students (by controlling intelligence), the more effective the study habit, the achievement will be higher (R = 0,314 ; R2 = 10,7 % ; p = 0,016 ; (2) there was positive significant relationship between spare time activities and academic achievement of elementary school students (by controlling intelligence), the more effective the spare time activities, the achievement will be higher (R = 0,318 ; R2 = 11 % ; p = 0,015) ; (3) there were relationships between study habit and spare time activities with academic achievement of elementary students, the more effective the study habit and spare time activities, the achievement will be higher (R = 0,393 ; R2 = 15,5 % ; p = 0,023).
